The following can be mailed or hand carried to the Motor Vehicle Office. One check is acceptable for payment.
Other License Plates

- Own, lease, or rent a place of domicile for more than 90 days
- Have a place of domicile and accept employment
Necessary to Register Vehicle
- Current out-of-state title. If coming from a title-holding state, lien holder must fax a copy of the front and back of the title to the Motor Vehicle Office
- MVE-1 inspection by the Kansas Highway Patrol
- Proof of insurance, effective January 1, 2000, there are new insurance requirements

- Properly assigned Manufacture Statement of Origin
- If purchased from a Kansas dealer, a sales tax receipt is required. If purchased from an individual or an out-of-state dealer, a bill of sale is necessary

- Renewal notice from the State of Kansas, bearing a registered owner’s signature (effective July 1, 2011, registered owner's signature is not required to renew a registration)
